Welcome to The Buck Stop! This will be my first post of MANY, I am sure!
My dearest, bestest, lovliest friend of countless years came for a visit this weekend. From the minute Jana walked into our home, it just felt great. Me and Jana go back to 7th and 8th grade, respectively. Jana is also the inspiration behind my starting “The Buck Stop”.
A bit more background here is to say that friendships that are true should be cherished and honored. Jana and I have been through thick and thin. She’s just really one of the best people in the world. If you know her and you’re reading this..you are thinking “That’s right – Jana is always there” Ok, enough sniff sniff words. But let’s leave it like this – I am a better person because of my freindship with Jana.
Everyone always wants to understand naming coventions of websites or blogs — so here goes. My married surname is Buckingham. I have a wonderfully supportive husband named Phil. We have the most wonderful gift of a son named Andrew. Andrew will be two years old later this month and let’s just say this…. Andrew has given me the profound gift of a new found respect for life. His energy, gregarious nature and sheer happiness for life is completely captivating.
I have a full time job, I travel a ton, love to cook, love my cats and I have a mare named Zoe. Zoe is a jumper and she is a very brave beautiful girl. She protects me every time I ride her. She continues to grow and develop with me. And, as Jana says “You guys make a great team” Just this weekend there were a couple of times when she could have been a complete lunatic with other action going on in the ring or on our trail ride and she just got me out of harms way and just marveled in the gorgeous weather. She also knew she was going to get lots of kisses and carrots when we returned to the barn. She loves her stall, she is not at all barn sour and she simply knows what her job is. Very good girl!
